HPCS Plaster Research & Development

From its inception in 1988, Historic Plaster Conservation Services has been actively engaged in the research and development of new conservation techniques and products. To this end, we have created our own proprietary and ever-expanding roster of products and tools, all designed to address the many challenges that fragile plaster presents.

Headed by Masumi Suzuki, our R&D department is always on the lookout for new opportunities to extend the useful life of historic plasters and stuccos. The most recent new product developed by Ms. Suzuki is HPCS TRI FunoriTM - an adhesive and consolidant derived from seaweed harvested from the Sea of Japan.
